If you are organizing public events on Öland, you can be featured in our calendar at oland.se. Please read the text below before submitting your tip.

We process incoming events within 10 working days , so submit well in advance. For best effect, the event should be published at least a couple of weeks before the start.

The organizer is responsible for ensuring that the information is accurate and up-to-date. Öland & Co reserves the right to assess, edit or reject events that do not meet the guidelines.

 

What counts as an event?

An event is a time-limited, planned occurrence that brings together visitors around a specific theme or experience. It should have a clear start and end date and deviate from the business's regular offerings.

Examples: concerts, markets, guided tours, exhibitions, competitions and festivals.

To be published in the calendar, the event must:

  • take place on Öland

  • be open to the public

  • be temporary (lasting no more than a few days or on a few occasions)

  • be something you can experience during your visit to Öland

Examples: concerts, markets, exhibitions, guided tours, theme nights, races, lectures, festivals and similar public activities.

 

not published in the calendar

  • Political or religious activities (e.g. church services, demonstrations, party meetings)

  • Courses, training or membership activities

  • Municipal service and information meetings, annual meetings

  • Recurring regular business (e.g. restaurants that are open, stores with promotions)

  • Activities that last more than a week at a time

  • Events not aimed at visitors

  • Attach at least one image without text (gif, jpg or png, max 2 MB)

  • Make sure you have consent from people in the photo (GDPR)

  • Fill in all required fields (*)

  • For events with multiple dates: use the "add date" function

  • If your venue/venue is not listed, select – unspecified – , click “add date” , and then fill in the address manually. The next time you register an event, the venue will be available as an option.

Fill in the name of the event and an introduction, i.e. a short selling text about the event. If necessary, also fill in a longer descriptive text about the event.

STEP BY STEP:
So you enter the date correctly!

Fill in the date, start time, end time and location. Then click "Add date" to save the event.

Would you like to add more dates?
Just fill in the new date, time and location and click “Add date” again. You can add as many times as you want.

Tips:
– Same event with multiple dates = enter all occasions here!
– Can't find your location in the list? Select "--Unspecified--" Then click "Add date" and enter the address in the field that now becomes visible. Next time the location will be included in the list.

Choose the category that suits you best. It is only possible to select one category. If we see that the event fits under more categories, we add it.

Fill in the website, telephone number, name of your contact person and e-mail.

Upload at least one image in jpeg or png format. For best results, upload a landscape image, as portrait images will be cropped to fit the website. Avoid text in the images.

If you chose the wrong image, click the "select files" button again and choose a new image.
To add more than one image, click the "select files" button. Then go to the folder on your computer that contains the images. Hold down the "Ctrl" button (if you have a PC) or "Cmd" (if you have a Mac) on your keyboard and then click on the images you want to include. Then click open and the images will appear in the event form.

  • Remember to avoid text in the images as much as possible
  • It is best to use a landscape image.
