Hike in the World Heritage, Millersten
Millersten is a trail that is partly shared with the trail to Tingstad flisor.
You can choose to walk a 7,2 km loop starting from the car park/railroad embankment, or in combination with a trip to Tingstad flisor, a distance of 13,8 km. Millersten is a large block of granite, embedded in the long stone wall. Millersten roughly means the stone in between and is a boundary stone between the parishes. Between the stone and the embankment, for part of the stretch you follow the roughly four-mile-long Mittmuren, which stretches across the entire Alvar in a north/south direction. This is said to have been one of the first walls that were added after the crown's lands were divided, the outland division, during the early 1800s.
