Tokenäs mill
The mill, with its beautiful location on the country castle at Byxelkrok, is a particularly decorative element in the landscape and should therefore be primarily remembered in the event of a possible upgrade of the mills in Böda. The mill was probably built in 1878 or possibly 1853.
The mill was donated to Böda Hembygdsförening in 1998 by John Englund's master house co-owner, Gertrud Åhs f Englund et al, according to the deed of gift. The mill blew over and was rebuilt in 1999/2000, at a cost of approx. SEK 95.000. During the construction, the roof, walls and parts of the footing were newly manufactured. Much of the interior chrome is unmounted and partially damaged inside the mill. Walking goose is in good condition.” Damage to the wing flap frames was repaired in the summer of 2004.
Original owner is unknown. Two mills used to stand here. The old hiking rings are still visible. One mill was demolished and the other moved to a place in between.
The mill was in use at the latest in 1910 when the steam mill in Mellby had been put into use, with the exception of some "maple grinding" during the 2nd World War.
