The Långe Jan lighthouse was lit for the first time on the first of November 1785 after a construction period of almost two years. The lighthouse was then 60 cubits high (about 36 meters) with a diameter of about 12 meters and with 197 steps up to the top. Långe Jan is today 41,6 meters and Sweden's tallest lighthouse. The view from the top is magnificent. The lighthouse is open during spring, summer and autumn at the same times as the nature center.
