Thåström at Borgholm Castle Ruins
Thåström ready for a historic concert at Borgholm Castle Ruins this summer!
With his eleventh album "Some of Us", Thåström has topped the album chart, knocked out the critics and been nominated for P3 Guld. During the spring he is out on a long-awaited arena tour, but this summer the victory procession continues with a concert at Borgholms Slottsruin on July 16, which will be a historic gig as it is the first time one of the country's biggest live acts steps up to one of the country's most iconic stages.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 25th at 10.00:XNUMX AM via Paraply.se/biljetter
This fall's release "Some of Us" was both a commercial and artistic triumph for Thåström. The record reached the top of the album chart and became the best-selling vinyl in Sweden in 2024.
The critics were also convinced by the album. “One of Thåström’s strongest”, said Johan Lindqvist in GP and awarded the highest rating. “It may look deceptively simple, but it is based on a lifetime of refinement of the craft”, wrote Jan Gradvall in DI Weekend. In the borderland between dream and reality, “Some of Us” describes existences, states and scenes from life with a toned-down and well-balanced kind of intensity, sometimes with jazz brass, North Macedonian strings or Nina Simone references in a continued search for the light. A swimming lap is sometimes all you need.
– I wanted to focus on the beautiful, instead of the opposite in these terrible times. I've been thinking about that for quite some time, to try to avoid navel-gazing and depression, says Thåström.
This summer he takes these songs and selected favorites from his extensive catalog out on the road and on July 16th he takes over Borgholm Castle Ruins with his eminent band consisting of:
Niklas Hellberg - keys
Per Eklund - drums
Stefan Brisland - keys
Christian Kjellvander - guitar
Henrik Kisa Nilsson - bass
"We are so happy that Thåström is continuing his tour this summer and it feels extra fun that we at Paraply get to be part of presenting this giant at one of the country's most powerful concert venues for the first time ever," says Oskar Askevik at Paraply.
"Thåström has over the years become known for his characteristically bombastic live performances, which are not only appreciated by his many and devoted fans, but by concert lovers in general. Borgholm Castle Ruins feels like the optimal setting for a show of this magnitude," concludes Oskar.
More information about holding times will be communicated later.
