The Stone Coast, a food walk in the landscape of the Skumtimmens

Experience Öland's fascinating stone coast, a coastal landscape shaped by limestone, sea and human toil. Here you will find the only skurkmurn in the Nordic region, abandoned quarries and exciting stories about the Öland limestone and the sea. Your guide and food cicerone, Charlotte Axelsson, will talk enthusiastically about the nature and culture of the region, interspersed with delicacies from the gastronomic Öland. The food is served in an abandoned limestone quarry and enjoyed with a view of the sea. It will be a filling tasting plate with charcuterie, bean salad, sauerkraut, hummus, cheese and other delicacies from the island. Everything is locally produced. On the way back, there will be coffee and a dip. The hike starts from Jordhamn, one of the pearls of northwestern Öland with picturesque boathouses and skurkmurn, which is located on the coast a few kilometers north of Sandvik. Here you will get a tasty experience under the high sky and close to the sea. Welcome to the Stenkusten! INFORMATION Hiking: approx. 3 km starting at the skurkmurn in Jordhamn. Time required: approx. 4 hours including food stops and coffee. Clothing: comfortable hiking shoes / sneakers / sturdy sandals and clothes according to the weather. Bring: your own water bottle if it is warm outside. The terrain is quite easy to walk in. Dogs can be brought along if kept on a leash.
