Train to Kalmar

There are several daily departures to Kalmar from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö/Copenhagen via Kust till Kustbanan and Öresundstågen. There is also a train connection with Karlskrona. Linköping is served by Kustpilen, which stops in Blomstermåla, Högsby, Hultsfred and Vimmerby.

Bicycle on the trains

Öresund train
It is possible to bring a bicycle on the Öresund train that runs between Copenhagen and Kalmar subject to space at extra cost.  Read more here and contact Öresundståg for more information.

SJ
On SJ's trains that run the Gothenburg-Kalmar and Alvesta-Kalmar route, it is only possible to bring folding bikes. Read more here and contact SJ for more information.

Krösa train
On the stretch between Emmaboda-Kalmar it is possible to bring a bicycle subject to space at extra cost, but between Linköping-Kalmar you are not allowed to bring a bicycle with you. Read more here and contact Krösatåg for more information. 

Direct bus Öland - Stockholm

The silver line
Silverlinjen is the personal company that drives you between Öland/Kalmar and Stockholm. Direct bus in both directions all year round. Read more on the Silver Line's website.

Swebus/Flixbus
Swebus, which is now part of Flixbus, runs a daily bus between Stockholm and Kalmar. From Kalmar and on to Öland you take the local bus company KLT. Read more on the Flixbus website.

Bicycles on the buses

On every regional bus (e.g. line 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 112) you can bring a bicycle subject to space at extra cost. Bring your own strap so you can secure your bike securely. If the bike rack is full, you have to wait for the next bus.

On the city buses, local traffic and coastal bus 500 you get do not bring a bicycle. Read more on KLT's website.
