Ottenby grove - Birdwatching platform | The cannon tower

To get to Fågeltornen in Ottenby lund, take a detour towards Öland's Södra Udde from road 136. You can reach the cannon tower by taking the first exit on the left and following the signs towards Norra Lunden / Schäferiängarna to the Norra Lund parking lot. At the car park there is a rest area with toilets and tables. From the parking lot, an approximately 1,5 km long dirt road leads you east towards Norra Lundtornet. To get to Kanontornet, take the first exit from the dirt road to the right and follow Finnslättsvägen towards the Södra Lund parking lot. Before you reach the parking lot, continue on Finnslättsvägen east towards Schäferiängarna. When you reach the edge of the grove, you then continue north out to arrive at the Kanontornet birdwatching platform.

Alternative way to get to the Kanontornet birdwatching platform is to continue on the road towards Öland's Södra Udde to the Södra Lund car park. From the car park, head northeast along Finnslättsvägen and take the first detour to the east. When you reach the edge of the grove, continue north out to reach the Cannon Tower. The gun tower is handicap-friendly and to get out to the platform it is a low slope. From the Kanontornet there is a magnificent view over the Schäferian meadows. At the platform there is a coffee table and an information board.
