Old Televerket Vin & Bistro

Good locally produced food cooked from scratch at Borgholm square. At Gamla Televerket, they work with the raw materials when they are at their best, so the menu changes from week to week and sometimes from day to day.

Gamla Televerket's vision is happy guests who ate their fill of simple, good food cooked from scratch.
By focusing on local produce in season, they let the ingredients come into focus. They like happy animals, so they prioritize meat from farms with good animal husbandry, fish from a sustainable stock and locally grown vegetables as much as possible.

When Gamla Televerket composes its dishes, they always start from what they themselves would like to see on the plate.

In 2016, GT was included in the White Guide and in 2018 they write like this:

"Meeting point with telehistory

The old Televerket in the middle of central Borgholm has new owners, new creative kitchen talents and crockery with a big city feel. Here, people like to meet in the bar or at one of the small tables for a business talk, a meeting with friends or a romantic evening. The menu is short, while the wine list is ambitious, including several nice Italians by the glass. We sit outside in the balmy evening and order a grilled butcher's steak from Mysinge, which is served nicely red-pink in a modern interpretation of the traditional plank roast. The vegetarian chooses a fancy grilled skewered dish topped with asparagus and carrots that have been allowed to dance around in a little fat together with hazelnuts and a polenta with fried kale. The visit drags on because the environment is so pleasant. An odd feature is the place's collection of ancient telephones."
