Öland's southern loop

Here you can find information to get the most out of your visit to Södra Öland.

The loop covers 40 km and starts in Södra Möckleby/Degerhamn, 4 miles south of Öland's bridge, follows the coast south down to the southern tip of Södra Öland with Långe Jan and Ottenby. It then continues north along the east coast up to Torngård. On that road, you can, for example, make a detour to Eketorp's castle in the middle of Alvaret. When you turn west again from Torngård, you drive 7 kilometers across the Alvaret and then you are in the middle of the World Heritage Södra Öland Cultivation Landscape, before tying the loop together and coming back to Södra Möckleby/Degerhamn. We have collected information here, everything from activities, arts and crafts and shops, to nature and cultural experiences and recreation, plus where to stay and eat and stay so that you have the opportunity to experience everything from the great expanses to the small the donut places that are here! We who live and work here want you to discover that there is a lot to see and that the season is long here on Öland. From early spring when the migratory birds return and the orchids bloom to the autumn harvest festival. But a winter's day when the pale sun shines over the very special landscape of Avar or the snow is dizzying, what we call "falcon", also has its special charm.
