MS Dessi - Bicycle ferry
During the bright time of the year, April to September, the cycle ferry Dessi operates to and from Öland. As cycling and walking are prohibited on Öland's bridge, the ferry is used extensively by both tourists and commuters. Bicycles are transported in racks on the aft deck, which has room for 50 bicycles.
Between Öland & Kalmar
The crossing between Färjestaden and Kalmar takes about 30 minutes. There is room for 118 passengers in the saloon, with cafeteria, and on the sun deck. Bicycles are transported in racks on the aft deck, which has room for 50 bicycles. Boarding takes place at Skeppsbron in Kalmar, and in Färjestaden's harbor on Öland.
Tickets and prices
Tickets are purchased on board the ferry with a debit card. There are also different types of discount cards such as 10-cards. These are also purchased on board the ferry, directly from the deckhand. Read more about tickets and prices on the timetable.
