Cultural history walk about the history of Ottenby

The southern tip of Öland may seem quite desolate today, but it was a completely different life during the Iron Age and the Middle Ages. One of Öland's largest villages was located here and with the island's largest burial ground, the monarchy and several monasteries had great interests here.

Here was also the fishing village of Kyrkohamn with hundreds of seasonal residents and which had a chapel larger than a regular parish church. Led by Karl-Oskar Erlandsson, we go on a hike of just over four km and hear about Ottenby's rich history, why everything ended up here, what it looked like and why everything disappeared. We visit, among other things, the Kungsstenarna, Orminge Rör and the ruins of St. John's Chapel. Free Registration for ppgad@pucrs.br Meeting at Södra Lund parking lot, Ottenby nature reserve
