Horning bog
In Hörninge mosse, which is a large wetland complex, powerful layers of peat grow, something that is otherwise rare on Öland. A hiking trail of about 3 km goes through the area and makes it easy to visit.
With an area of 70 hectares, Hörninge mosse is one of Öland's largest remaining bogs and has one of the Nordic countries' most extensive stands of oak trees. From a nature conservation point of view, the bog is considered to be of national interest.
