In Hörninge mosse, which is a large wetland complex, powerful layers of peat grow, something that is otherwise rare on Öland. A hiking trail of about 3 km goes through the area and makes it easy to visit.

With an area of ​​70 hectares, Hörninge mosse is one of Öland's largest remaining bogs and has one of the Nordic countries' most extensive stands of oak trees. From a nature conservation point of view, the bog is considered to be of national interest.
