Högsrum's church

Högsrum's church is located next to the road between Rälla and Gärdslösa and consists of a defense tower with many vaulted rooms and brick stairs from about 1200. The hall church was built in 1822.

In Högsrum's parish there was probably already a wooden church during the 1000th century. However, where this church stood is not known. During the first half of the 1100th century, a stone church with nave, chancel and apse was built on the site where the church stands today. A tower in the west was added in the second half of the 1100th century. This tower is largely still there today, as is the west gable of the nave.
