But what exactly is Öland's harvest festival?
Well, we'll tell you! The autumn season is unequivocally crowned by Öland's Harvest Festival, which is one of the country's largest and most well-attended of its kind. On the last weekend in September, this comprehensive event is organized from north to south. The islanders create the best of most of what they have to do with festive atmosphere and gather to celebrate the local community and harvest work.
A large number of cultural experiences are mixed with flea markets, farm shops and food markets, pumpkins, potatoes, beans and onions, yes, everything that the Öland pantry has to offer. Art Night attracts a large number of visitors who travel around our island and take part in the creations of local artists and artisans as darkness descends over the island and only torches show the way. Nor can we forget the spectacular fire shows and pumpkin competitions, the exciting corn maze that never ends and the guided tours that teach us more about the island - yes, there really is a place for everything here.
Take the chance and experience Öland's culture and tradition, taste locally grown ingredients and products and enjoy Öland's unique nature and landscape. Surely we'll see you on the island during the last week of September?
