Handcraft Oasis - Annika Liepa

Annika Liepa - Born in 1950 in Kalmar and has worked as a ceramist since 1975. She works with ceramic sculpture and images in stoneware. Sculpts animals in stoneware for outdoor and indoor use but also on tiles and pots. The animals act as a mediator and symbol for life and our place in history. Each object is unique and is made entirely by hand without the help of a wheel.

"I sculpt in stoneware clay that is fired at high temperatures. Animals and fantasy creatures that are also good to have outside, cats and hares are favorites, but I also depict birds that live in our garden. I also paint in acrylic and watercolor." - Annika Liepa
