Fossil school for the family

Knock on rocks and learn about fossils!

Fossils are remains of ancient life. In the limestone we can find traces of early animals that lived in the oceans when the limestone was formed many millions of years ago.
During our time in the Fossil School, the geologist tells us what a fossil is, what they look like and how the animals lived and looked once upon a time. Exciting!
After the short theory session, we set out on the fossil-rich rocks. With a hammer and wearing a helmet and goggles, we knock out our exciting memory from Öland.
