After perhaps a whole day's journey towards night, many visitors usually feel that the arrival at the Ferry Town is a liberation. The journey across the bridge is complete, the children have stopped asking "how far is it left". Now you're just minutes away from turning off the engine and stretching your legs. The ferry town is an excellent first stop for your Öland stay. In the harbor there is a playground, swimming, camping and restaurants, and if you want to stay really comfortably, there are two hotels to choose from. A large shopping center with several store chains gives you all the possibilities for shopping.

With Färjestaden as a starting point, it is easy to make excursions both north and south over. A nice cycle path leads to baths such as Röhälla in the north and Eriksöre in the south. Near the harbor there is a popular swimming beach, a lovely playground, outdoor gym and adventure golf. A short distance away is an all-activity park with skate ramps. Camping with a nice pool area and a golf course can be found in the immediate area. Fancy meeting lemurs, zebras, monkeys and crocodiles? Of course, there is a zoo on Öland, and here you can also swim and play in the water park and get your stomach tingling in the carousels at the park's amusement park. The magnificent Ferris wheel is one of Öland's most spectacular landmarks.
