Per Ekström in concert
PER EKSTRÖM "The Sun Painter" is perhaps Öland's most famous artist. In this unique concert for two opera singers and a piano trio, his artistry and contemporary life are presented at VIDA museum & art gallery.
Music by, among others, Claude Debussy, Lili Boulanger, Francis Poulenc, Dora Pejaĉević, Maurice Ravel and Hans Gurstad-Nilsson.
Mezzo-soprano Solgerd Isalv and baritone Karl Söderström interpret Per Ekström's contemporary life in sounds and words together with a piano trio consisting of Ophelia Kamkar - violin, Zéphyrin Rey-Bellet - cello and Bo Wannefors - grand piano. With interwoven letter quotes and poems, actor Anna Jankert draws a personal portrait of the man and artist Per Ekström. We also hear a completely new work by the Öland-based composer Hans Gurstad, music inspired by Ekström's world of motifs and life story.
