Ecopark Böda
Ekopark Böda is a distinctive and inviting landscape on Öland's northernmost tip. Ekopark Böda offers everything from barren sand dunes with storm-twisted pines, to calcareous meadow pine forests with a diversity of orchids and lush leafy groves and old oaks.
Böda not only has a fascinating nature to offer - the cultural heritage is also very tangible. The large number of well-preserved ancient remains is unique in Northern Europe. Almost completely intact villages with house foundations, stone enclosures and burial grounds tell about the life of former islanders here.
Böda is one of Sweden's most popular leisure areas. During sunny summer days, the bay's beautiful sandy beaches are popular. A cycle path stretches around the whole of Böda, passing several of the many sights. The forest landscape is very valuable and varied thanks to a long cultural history. In order to preserve and recreate the unique diversity in Böda, Sveaskog has chosen to make the area an eco-park. Through well-planned nature conservation management, more meadow forest, broadleaf forest, wetlands and ancient remains and cultural monuments have been highlighted.
