Bibi Lace - Walter Frylestam's studio
A nature painting from the inside with the landscape as a starting point. Expressive, poetic painting.
During the Öland Art Landscape 2025, May 29 - June 1, Bibi Spets will exhibit in the Gallery at Skabbekattens Keramik in the old farm at Djurstad bygata 19.
Bibi Spets' painting is based on natural experiences and can be seen as an intuitive, lyrical painting. The colors are often strong and the atmosphere condensed.
"Bibi Spets draws inspiration from nature, from the surroundings of a beloved landscape, Öland where she grew up and to which she returned, but also images she is enthusiastic about. [...] The work continues in series of guided tours towards alternations of close-ups, and would not, strictly speaking, cease unless new canvases hunger to be saturated with color. It is thus a matter of vision similar to that when we look at the sky and the clouds which are constantly changing and where one sees that the blue color is not blue without orange-blue purple with pink touches. In a similar way, new changing things and combinations are discovered in Bibi's paintings." (Wonder-A landscape, Peter Hultsberg & Bibi Spets, 2023)
