Ann-Britt Malmsten
Painting in Ateljé Störlinge.
Ann-Britt Malmsten was born in 1958 and raised in Kalmar County. Permanent resident of Öland since spring 2024. As a young woman, she took preparatory art courses at Öland Folk High School but later chose a career in the textile industry in Borås.
At the same time, art has existed in parallel in life and over the years there have been many evening, weekend and summer courses in painting, drawing and sketching, etc. Today, it is primarily oil and acrylic painting that Ann-Britt devotes herself to. The motifs of the painting are people, flowers and still lifes. It is the contrast between light and dark that attracts her to painting.
Ann-Britt has been represented at Borås Höstsalong (5 occasions between 2005 and 2017, Sydosten in Kalmar (2018 and 2022) and with a solo exhibition "Body Language-Power Language" at Atelje Erika Wallin in Limmared in March 2024. Today she has her studio and exhibition space in the yard at her home in Störlinge where the first exhibition was opened during the Harvest Festival in 2024.
