Åkerbokonstnärna - collective exhibition
Åkerbokonstnärnerna was already founded in 1968, which makes us probably the oldest artist group of its kind in Sweden.
All members have a collective exhibition in Sjögren's barn, Byxelkrok.
Our program will include:
Vernissage 17 May 13-17
Jürgen Ewel's opening speech at 13.00 p.m
Thursday-Saturday 11-17
Sunday 11-15
It was the summer of 1968 that a group of artists in northern Öland got together and held the first summer exhibition in Åkerboskolan. This was the beginning of a long tradition of exhibitions with professional artists, both permanent residents and summer residents, in the old Öland's Åkerbo municipality. The composition of the group has naturally changed over the years.
Before the summer of 1993, the artists decided to open their studio to the public. In 2018, Åkerbokonstnärerna celebrated 50 years, with a. large anniversary exhibition in the art gallery in Himmelsberga, Öland's Museum.
The group was also awarded Borgholm Municipality's culture prize of SEK 10.000 and was also awarded by Kalmar County Council with SEK 25.000.
In 2019, the group exhibited at the Swedish Embassy's residence in Iceland.
